KOTA Therapy in Manchester

Kathleen O’Connor started KOTA Therapy in 2024. Based in Manchester, and more specifically a very funky location on Pollard Street East, KOTA Therapy is one of a collection of converted container units. Yes, an incredible collection of different businesses, all in one yard, with their own personalised container unit workspace. Boy, they are incredible!

KOTA Therapy describes their business as:

KOTA Therapy Photoshoot In Manchester

Kathleen asked me to pop over for an hour or so for a photoshoot at the location for her new website. How could I say no? A KOTA Therapy photoshoot in Manchester - no rules, just a collection of organic, natural images for website and marketing in KOTA HQ - this incredible converted container unit. So I travelled light, using a Nikon D780 with (mostly) a 35mm lens, to give me the ‘look’ I wanted. The interior of the therapy room is quite dark, and intimate - even on a sunny day as it was. I took along a single flash head, just to boost the light levels inside the room, but still maintaining the natural light and organic feel to the images.

This project was part of my services as a Branding Photographer Manchester. I don’t photograph the usual high key, sitting crosslegged on a sofa smiling at camera stuff. My documentrary approach means I work quickly and efficiently. Most of the photos of Kathleen Looking to camera are down to me interrupting her for a few seconds. Natural and non-contrived business portraits, taken on-site.

Therapists in Manchester

Kathleen has KOTA as her main base, but offers the room to be hired by other therapists in the area. The location at Pollard Street East offers a very cost-effective route for clients and therapists alike, and she welcomes collaborations with colleagues in the same areas of psychotherapy to work with her.
